Biofach 2025: Meeting point Organic breeding

BIOFACH 2025 will take place in Nuremberg from 11-14 February. Following the special exhibitions in 2018/19, bioverita is now organising the organic breeding meeting point for the fifth time.

We are joining forces with the umbrella organisation Dachberband Ökologische Pflanzenzüchtung in Deutschland e.V., Kultursaat e.V. and Ökologische Tierzucht gGmbH (ÖTZ). Together we are sending out a strong signal in favour of organic breeding and against the impending deregulation of new genetic technologies (NGT).

Organic breeding makes organic possible right from the start, is guaranteed GMO-free and is therefore an important basis for sustainable and independent organic farming. At our new location in Hall 9, opposite the BÖLW stand with adjoining café, we offer a comprehensive range of information and dialogue on the subject of organic breeding.

What the stand has to offer

Breeders from the fields of vegetable, fruit, cereal and animal breeding will be on hand to answer questions and share their expertise. We also bring organic breeding to life with all the senses: with flowering vegetable plants and seeds to look at, feel and smell.

bioverita will be presenting its diverse market partnerships with organic wholesalers, processors and direct marketing companies using finished products from organic cultivation such as vegetables, cereal products and bread.

Presentations

During the four days of the fair, there will be seven presentations at the stand, reporting on various breeding projects and bioverita’s market partnerships, as well as addressing the negative consequences of the deregulation of the NGT. The lectures will be held in German, but can be translated if required.
