Organic farming should begin at the breeding stage – yet so far, organic farming has mainly relied on conventionally bred varieties. To promote varieties developed through organic breeding, bioverita provides lists of vegetable, cereal, fruit, herb and flower varieties from organic breeding initiatives that meet the association’s definition of organic breeding. bioverita is committed to ensuring that these varieties are increasingly cultivated and marketed, and that they reach end consumers.
